Kara Lacy is a licensed social worker in Ohio, specializing in children and adolescents. Holding a bachelor's degree in social work from Aurora University and a master's degree in social work with a focus on school social work from the University of Memphis, Kara brings a wealth of experience as a school social worker from her time in Tennessee.
Kara's therapeutic approach is centered on strengths, empowering clients to acknowledge and leverage their own positive attributes. Kara has experience with working with individuals facing challenges such as grief, anxiety, depression, trauma exposure, ADHD, anger management, social skills development, and social-emotional learning.
In both individual and group settings, Kara utilizes evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavioral therapy to support her clients on their journey towards healing and growth. Currently undergoing supervision to become a Registered Play Therapist, Kara is dedicated to integrating play into her practice to enhance therapeutic outcomes for her clients.
Outside of therapy, Kara enjoys traveling, shopping, and spending time with loved ones, including her dog, Fifi.
