Elizabeth Edington is an Independently Licensed Social Worker with a Supervision designation (LISW-S) in the State of Ohio. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work from the University of Louisville Kent School of Social Work. She has worked in multiple settings, including hospital, community mental health, school and outpatient in both agency and private practice settings. She has experience supervising student interns, dependent therapists, and independent supervisors, both individually and in group settings.
Elizabeth enjoys working with children and adolescents of all ages, as well as their families, but especially loves working with elementary aged-children. She uses an attachment lens when working with clients and their families. Elizabeth supports connected parenting approaches and trauma-informed care. She strongly believes in neurodiversity-affirming care. Elizabeth has experience treating children in areas such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, executive functioning, grief, divorce, social skills, and trauma. She has a special interest in adoption, kinship, and foster care issues.
Elizabeth is a Case Institute adoption competent therapist who graduated from the accredited Training for Adoption Competency (TAC) program. She is currently in the process of becoming a Certified AutPlay Therapist, with an expected completion date of March 2024. Elizabeth also has training in Safety-Care, DBT, play therapy, and adoption assessment. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Ohio Adoption Planning Group (OAPG). She is a sustaining (retired) member of the Junior League of Dayton.
Elizabeth is originally from Louisville, Kentucky, and currently resides in Ohio with her husband, two sons, and bearded dragon. She enjoys traveling and gardening, and learning new things!
