Maricela Anderson, Intern

Maricela (mar-EE-cell-Uh) is a recent graduate of Miami University with her BA in Psychology. She is currently pursuing her Master’s of Social Work at Miami as well and plans to graduate spring 2025.

Her goal going into School-Based Mental Health is to provide a safe space for students while giving them support and mentorship. Her overall goal is to ensure that adolescents of color are being met where they’re at and encouraged to seek greatness. She also believes that every child deserves a chance at mentorship and happiness in their pursuits, no matter their age or experience. Her previous experience includes 1-on-1 work with children ages 5-17 in academic and summer sessions. She helped them improve in math skills, social-emotional, and building relationships with their peers while building up their self-esteem through kindness, confidence, and support.

She’s from Cleveland, OH and comes from a family of 3 girls. Outside of work, she has a dog named Boba, enjoys Lego sets, crocheting, and time with friends. She also loves nature, plants, and flowers.
