Kayla Smith, LPC

Kayla Smith is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio. She earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Cincinnati and her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Toledo. She has experience working with children, teenagers and adults in multiple settings including in home therapy, outpatient services, integrated behavioral health in a primary care and school-based counseling.

Kayla’s goal is to empower people as they work towards improving their mental health and creating the life they want for themselves. To achieve this goal, she assists clients in discovering and identifying their strengths, processing emotions, and creating plans for positive change. She provides a non-judgmental and safe space to promote creativity and openness, with a focus on creating a comfortable working relationship.

Every person is different, so she tailors her approach to fit individual needs and interests. Her clinical interests include play and art therapy, mindfulness practices, and narrative therapy. Kayla has training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and has helped clients with diagnoses such as ADHD, Anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Conduct Disorders and Grief.
